Makenna holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance and Choreography, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature, from the University of Missouri Kansas City. She has twelve years of training in ballet and modern dance technique and has been privileged to perform works by Mary Pat Henry, Gary Abbott, DeeAnna Hiett, and Winston Dynamite Brown in venues including the Folly Theatre and the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. In 2017, Moore independently produced her first concert, “Because They Serve,” to inspire gratitude in the artistic community for those who serve. In 2018, she was asked to choreograph for UMKC’s conservatory commencement ceremony at the Kauffman Center. Moore has a passion for collaborative endeavors that span across performance, visual, and aural art disciplines as well as historical, religious, and literary studies. She has worked as a choreographer with composers, photographers, and visual artists in Kansas City to expand the viewer and the artist's intellectual and spiritual experience of movement.
