Erin Buffum

Ms. Buffum is an alumni of Ibsen Dance Theatre and participated as a dance, theatre, and voice student. She earned her degree in music education from UMKC's Conservatory of Music and Dance in 2009. Erin taught middle and high school choir for eleven years and in 2015 was named "Most Outstanding Young Music Educator" by NEKMEA. During the day she is a school counselor, and continues to work in music education as a judge and clinician.
Erin has been involved in Gladstone Theatre in the Park since 1998, and has participated as a cast member, vocal music director, and pit director. She has worked as a vocal music director for Kansas City Lyric Opera's summer opera camp, and has directed children's theatre for Madison Avenue Performing Arts. Erin has previously sung with the Kansas City Symphony Chorus and the Kansas City Chorale. As a teenager, she sang the national anthem at Kauffman Stadium, for the Big 12 Championship, and for the VFW National Convention. 
Erin believes that everyone can (and should!) sing! She specializes in age-appropriate literature, technique, and equipping singers with the skills to be great music readers.
